Since I was old enough to use scissors (in a responsible manner) I have been cutting out pictures of interiors that float my boat. The quirky, the colourful and the down right horrid (oh how my taste has changed over the years), and they are all semi neatly pasted into two spiral bound books for… well I am not entirely sure what for.
I have looked at them thousands of times, and now every time I find something that tickles my fancy… out come the scissors and the glue and boooya. To be completely honest, I have a bit of a pile up at the moment, but that rainy day will come, and I will be back on track for sure!
Where was I going with this?… Um…Oh yes I remember!…
When we are rummaging for wedding inspiration we often have tunnel vision. We are mesmerised (and often overwhelmed) by what we see in magazines and websites, and sometimes its easy to become a little too influenced by what ‘she’ had and what ‘they’ did on their big day, as opposed to what ‘you’ love. So my suggestion is…take a break, and look to interiors (and even to your own home if you find yourself surrounded by objects that inspire you)
Find your ‘jumping off point’. It could be as simple as a piece of fabric or a colour palette, or more complex with a mix of styles or a specific theme, but this ‘jumping off point’ will help guide you through the rest of your planning. (Note: Print it off and keep in your wallet/diary/frighteningly huge wedding scrapbook/under your pillow as a planning tool)
And where better to take inspiration from than the incredible blog of Vic Bibby… Cush and Nooks. Here are a few of my favies to get you started…
