It is not often a wedding has me in tears, but todays beautiful story did exactly that. A stunning location, a VERY talented bride, a gorgeous bridal party and a very special celebration of love and life; this wedding shows true love in its purest form, oh and just my favourite wedding shoes EVER. Just sayin.
Beautifully captured by the talented and oh so beautiful Kate Wark from Kate Wark Photograher these images are so damn perfect, I just had to show you every single image in full size!
A huge congratulations to Jody & James, and a massive thank you to the talented Kate Wark and her talented second shooter, Samantha from Samantha Donaldson Photography, for sharing these beautiful images with us.
From the bride…
“Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. After the initial excitement of our engagement, soon came the stress of wedding planning. Our main priority was trying to get our wedding to reflect who we were as a couple. After deciding on a beach wedding, we chose North Pakiri as our ceremony venue. The quietness alongside the beauty and expanse of the shore made it an easy decision.”
“Our wedding theme was a mixture of beach, vintage, natural, elegant, rustic – so many styles but they worked together perfectly. To add a personal touch (as well as save money), we made as many things as we could. We ended up creating buttonholes, invitations, a surfboard signing board, table centerpieces, ceremony decorations, fans for the beach, signage and finally my masterpieces – my bouquets.
I painstakingly made over 100 fabric roses for the bridesmaid’s bouquets and don’t even get me started on how long my bouquet took! Getting it right was important. All the styling details were. That’s what made our wedding what it was. Seeing our hard work admired by our guests made us realise the blood, sweat and tears were worth it.”
“Our bridal party was amazing. Made up of my sister, my friend and two of James’ friends, they were the perfect people to stand next to us while we took our vows. The boys helped James to prepare (surfing!) and the girls calmed me down in the build up to the ceremony. We feel lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives.”
“Although an awful lot of work went into our wedding to make it everything we wanted, we love the fact that our photographer Kate caught the laidback, carefree vibe of the day. We wanted to be able to enjoy the day and relax. Kate captured everything and we were blown away with the results. The photos are stunning. My favourite thing about them, that I didn’t realise at the time, is the way the white sand and blue sky and ocean complimented our wedding colours. Being able to look back at our photos and appreciate the true beauty of our venue is pretty special.”
“The team at The Smashed Pipi Bar & Cafe were happy to hold our reception for us. We had a professional decorator transform the place to a venue fit for our wedding. It was a truly magical night and we were surrounded by our wonderful friends and family, enjoying fantastic food and dancing.”
“It was a fantastic day and we wouldn’t have changed a thing – except being able to slow down the day! It went so fast but I guess time flies when you’re having fun. It was certainly fun, but also emotional. Having my sister, who was diagnosed with brain cancer six months earlier, be there to celebrate with us was incredible. She was healthy enough to last the day, and although extremely tired, she danced well into the night. No matter what happens, I’m forever grateful for her being a part of our wedding.”
“On the 23rd February 2013, I married my best friend. Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be.”
