How did your love story begin?

Our love story began when I moved to Queenstown & into a flat full of random North Island Boys.

One in particular caught my eye & after 3 months of late night fire side chats Robert & I had a sneaky kiss at a friends flat warming & were “official” soon after.

Why did you say ‘YES’?

I knew he was the one because our relationship is so easy.

We also have the same values and goals which is very important, but above all we Love each other to bits, he’s my person!

What were your Save & Splurge items?

Save – I am a big fan of pinterest so went there trawling for DIY decoration ideas. I then got handy with the hole punch and glitter . A few of the things I made were; candy kebabs to sit on each dinner plate, glitter dipped feathers-which were strung up from the ceiling and ombre  watercoloured name tags. My favorite DIY decoration was our photobooth backdrop . I used a mixture of spray painted/glitter hearts stuck on a big white backdrop.

Our guests were let loose with a polaroid camera and a whole lot of props.

We also saved money by not having a bridal party.

We wanted to have a casual non traditional feel to the wedding & I actually really loved the fact it was just the two of us + it meant we got to sit with ALL our friends at the reception!

Splurge – Our splurge items were…

Our venue at Jackspoint Queenstown & the amazing band Mojo. I love a good boogie on the dance floor so having a band was a top priority for me

What music did you play for those special moments?

Our ceremony songs were… Here comes the sun-The BeatlesSomebody loved-The weepiesNothing left to lose-Matt Kearney.

In hindsight, is there anything that you would have done differently?

We opted for a photography package which went up until the speeches. In hindsight I wish I had gone all out & had Still Waters Photography at the dance as well, as I think the photos would have had a whole different feel to them at night and would have been really fun.

What do you love most about being a MRS?

Not sure yet, I haven’t even got round to changing my name on facebook!

What advice would you give to future brides to be?

Hiring mint events to set our decorations up on the day was a huge plus, it meant we could just relax  (& also not have to figure out how to string the flower orbs and feathers from the ceiling J )

My god NZ is beautiful! And kiwi Bs & Gs sure know how to rock their laid back style – love the groom’s converse (and lack of tie) and the pop of turquoise from under the bride’s dress! x
