I am a HUGE fan of the engagement shoot. It is the perfect opportunity to get to know your photographer (and whether or not they are your cup of tea) and also a fab chance to get a little experience in front of the camera (especially if one or both of you is a little camera shy!)
Gorgeous couple Anna and Seven were photographed by insanely talented New Zealand Photographer James Broadbent in an inner city Auckland setting. Set against a renovated villa backdrop and a downtown location, these stunning images perfectly show how in love the couple are (and how much fun they have!) and the colours in all shots are simply fabuloso!
Find out more about photographer James at the end of this post, and here is a little snippet from bride to be Anna…
How did you and Seven meet? We meet through the mail man. Mum owns her own business from home and the courier would come everyday so Mum encouraged me to practice my Chinese with him as he’s from China and I was majoring in Mandarin, Chinese at the time. One day the courier kindly invited me out for dinner with his family and friends to celebrate Chinese Mid Autumn Festival, as he knew I was interested in all things relating to Chinese language and culture. I accepted his invitation, and that night met my now fiance!!!! Turns out the courier and Seven have been best friends in New Zealand for over 10 years now.
How did Seven propose to you? He took me out for dinner and romantically proposed to me under the Auckland Harbour Bridge, at The Wharf…which is where we are having our reception!

About James Broadbent…
“Kia Ora. My name is James, I’m a wedding photographer who loves to shoot anywhere in New Zealand.
I absolutely love every part of shooting weddings. As a photographer I’m laid back and I love to help you enjoy your wedding day as much as possible. Telling the story of your wedding is really important to me. I love capturing those special moments of your day – the moments that are so easily missed.
I’m passionate about stunning wedding photography that captures the beauty of people. My ideal photo has smooth light, muted tones, natural colours and of course people just being themselves.
If you are getting married literally anywhere in NZ – Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown or anywhere inbetween then I’d love to shoot your wedding.
Send me an email if you are interested or if just have any questions about wedding photography whatsoever, I’d love to chat.”
