Today’s gorgeous couple are so so sweet, you can just feel the love! Jo and Andrew said I do in stunning Central Otago on a picture perfect day, and as a result the images are nothing short of spectacular.
Captured by one of my favourite photography teams Alpine Image Co. this fabulous day looked like a whole lot of fun, and I LOVE the brides reason for saying yes… (it totally makes sense Jo!). Oh and how amazing is the cake! WOW. Enjoy…
How did your love story begin? Andrew and I have been friends since we were children and lost contact after high school. I travelled the world and Andrew worked hard. I moved home about 3 years ago ran into a mutual friend who invited me to a BBQ, ran into Andrew, got talking and we’ve been together ever since.
Why did you say ‘YES’? I knew Andrew was the one from the very beginning, he’s the opposite and exactly the same as me (if that makes any sense?!) He’s kind, loyal, grounded and passionate. Perfect man in my eyes!
What was your inspiration or theme for the day? Our inspiration/theme was everything romantic, we went for deep romantic colours, with beautiful dark red roses. It was gorgeous!
What was your budget? Originally budgeted for around $14000, ended up spending a little more than that! 🙂
What were your Save & Splurge items?
We saved on many things, i.e. I’m a massive bargain hunter and super creative so I hand-made all of our invites, place cards, centerpieces, bridesmaid bouquets, all of the button holes and corsage’s and bridal bouquet. I then found great deals on trade me for all other decoration bits which really cut back on prices as I then could on sale them and get my money back!
As for Splurge, we certainly splurged on food and wine, we went big and YUMMY! Everyone had a choice of mains; lamb, hapuka or steak. Our entrée was an alternate drop of venison with chilli chocolate or freshly dredged oysters! We had six different canapes and a wicked dessert bar complete with our topsy-turvy blue wedding cake.
What music did you play for those special moments? For walking down the aisle we played A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, for the retreat down the aisle we played All You Need Is Love by The Beatles and for our first dance we played When You Say Nothing At All by Ronan Keating.
What do you love most about being a MRS? That my husband can no longer run away!! 😀
In hindsight, is there anything that you would have done differently? In hind sight, we had some very close friends come out from Alaska at last minute, and I really wish we had included my husbands other best friend and my best friend in our wedding party.
What advice would you give to future brides to be? Pick your wedding party carefully and be very set with what you do and do not want your wedding to include!
