“For this shoot I wanted to compliment and bring together the tones of the venue, foliage, make-up, cake and dress and wanted to give a relaxed yet moody and dynamic feel to the images.  I’d photographed Gemma and BJ a couple of times before so I knew they have a very real, natural, unforced chemistry which was a joy to be able to capture. – Michael Schultz Photography

“We wanted our styling to reflect the tones and textures of the venue by creating an organic, natural experience with a modern impression. Inspired by the elements and flow of Te Awa Winery, we opted for olive leaf branches effortlessly bound together through the middle of the bridal table, white linen napkins & New Zealand made Tony Sly Pottery finished with a milky white glaze.” – Amber from Madisons

“I wanted this cake to be very contemporary, I wanted to step away from current trends while keeping the design feminine and delicate. The painterly look was achieved with several different shades, blush, plum, rose and ivory etc, I highlighted areas with gold to add a level of allure and elegance.” – Ash from Organic Ash

“A seasonal mixture of roses, peonies, cymbidium orchids and flowering pieris was selected for a colour palette of feminine pastels and blush pinks, complimented with soft green foliage. Inspired by the venue, we focused on an organic unstructured look, subtle contrasts and texture.” – Amber from Madisons

The amazing dress from Sally Eagle Bridal was chosen because it showed Gemma’s amazing back tattoo, flattered Gemma’s figure with it’s high waist, looked amazing in general and suited the theme with its femininity and nod to vintage dresses”. – Michael Schultz Photography

“Because it was an overcast day I went for a somewhat soft and slightly cool colour look, and was careful that wood tones did not dominate with too much red and that the greens throughout the images tended towards olives and muted tones rather than veering off towards fluorescence.” – Michael Schultz Photography

“I wanted to create a very feminine and naturally beautiful look, where skin was flawless but still looked like skin, cheeks were flushed, lips were pretty and the eyes were doe-eyed. This look was mainly about the eyes and the lashes, I wanted a natural yet glam look. Although the look was mainly about the eyes every element coming together and complementing one another is what made it work.” – Charlotte from Makeup by Charlotte
